Movie night with the girls while daddy was out with friends!
We watched Snow White and ate popcorn.

Post nap time. Carly's blank stare and Emma eating away.
Carly loves to snuggle and Emma loves to eat as soon as they get up.

One of their favorite things to do. 'Drive' our car.
Emma loves finding water bottles to unscrew the lid and dump all the water.
Carly goes from the driver's seat, to buckling her car seat.

I love this man right here. He is really the best dad and husband.
I love watching him be a dad to our beautiful girls.
He plays with them. He goes on walks with them. He lets them feed him. He is pretty awesome.
I am the lucky one.

This smile! Oh my goodness it just melts my heart.

I told you. Best dad right here.
After a long day at work,
he still has a bit of energy to carry one girl on his shoulder and chase the other.

Yes, Emma climbed up on the bench by herself!!!
She is a crazy awesome climber.
My three loves.

Really?! Where has May gone??!

I feel like the same pictures are being taken over and over. But these are my days.
The girls are getting bigger and growing like crazy.
I want to remember my simple days with them.

Emma loves carrying around Carly's helmet until someone puts it on her.
She loves 'riding' Carly's bike. I mean, look at that smile!

They love love love parks. They are obsessed with the swings, slides, and climbing.

There was an older kid swinging like this. haha
As soon as he was done, both girls ran over and hung on the swings.

Making me some chocolate milk! She knows me oh too well.

I love taking pictures of the different ways we go on walks. Lately it has been bike and wagon.
It used to be strollers.

Happy 16 months Emma!

Yet, another Sunday night has come and I am not tired, due to a nice nap I had this afternoon. :)
So here's to blog posting!

Happy 16 months Emma!
She is looking and acting more and more like a toddler rather than a baby. Which makes me sad because I love the baby stage. But it also makes me excited because of how fun she is!
Selfie with mommy after church today.
 New things Emma is doing:

*imitates us (when we cough she will cough, when we yell she will yell back)

*she can sing the itsy bitsy spider. I ask her if she wants to sing a song and she puts her little fingers together for her spider and waits until we start singing. She also loves Wheels on Bus. We were singing it the other day and she was across the room, when we came to 'the horn on the bus goes beep beep beep' she comes running beeping her nose and singing it.

*when she laughs really hard she throws her head back and keeps laughing with her little nose scrunched up and all of her teeth showing.

*she folds her arms to pray! She used to just put her hands together, now she actually folds her arms.

*she can climb onto the kitchen table! Ah. Just this morning, a chair was pulled out just far enough that she climbed onto the chair, and then onto the table and was smelling the flowers when I turned around to see what she was doing. Ah!

*she will blow a kiss and say bye to just about anyone.

*when Carly wakes up in the morning she runs to her door to give her a hug. cutest. thing. ever.

*SLIDES! She goes down the really big twisty slides all by herself at the park now.

*feeds herself with a fork/spoon. She is actually better at it sometimes than Carly!

*Wiggle car. We have this yellow car that she sits on, steers, and goes all by herself.

I asked her to say hi to Emma in the camera. She waved.

I love this drink steelin', sun glass wearin', runny nosed baby.
Funny story: The other night we asked Emma to go and put her toothbrush away in the bathroom. She didn't come back into Carly's room, so Jeremy went to the bathroom to find her with her arm in the toilet, swishing her toothbrush around. As soon as she saw Jeremy she plopped her toothbrush in her mouth! YUCK! We both laughed but told her not to do it again.
She loves this tunnel at the playground.
She loves crawling through it and turning around right before she gets to the end.
Sleeping: Emma has been waking up at 5:30-6:00 lately. But then she takes a nap at about 8-9:30 then again at noon when Carly goes down for her nap. Then she is up until 7:00.

Talking: She can say mom, dad, Emma (ma!), prayer, more (she will sign it and say it usually when she wants more milk) bye, hi, thank you

She loves this swing. I spent the last few days outside with the girls.
All Emma wants to do is swing. She runs over, pats the swing and yells for me to put her in.

Emma loves: Carly, bath time, (after dinner we say "Emma bath?!" she runs straight to the bathroom yelling 'ba ba ba!'

She loves outside, slides, putting things in and taking things out (today at church she had a little water bottle and she put cereal in and dumped it out again and again)

I love this little energizer Emma. I love being her mom and getting kisses from her multiple times a day. She is so kind and so sweet. I love you Emma Jean.

I am not a fan of sick babies.
But I am a HUGE fan of snuggles from this precious baby.

My view right about now. Emma climbing on the table to get more crackers.
And Carly stuck in the car seat for the fifth time.
Which one do I save first?

Naturally, while daddy shampoos the carpet we play 'music' on pans and then make popcorn to eat!

sisters in matching diapers
Carly wears diapers to bed and I snapped a picture before she took it off.

'This little piggy went to the market'

How is she so big??!!!

Emma in mid-run and Carly busy coloring.

This smiley three year old melts my heart.

My favorite one year old in style.

Our new puppy: Gunner

About eight weeks ago I got a phone call from my mom (in Ohio) asking we would want a chocolate lab/german shepherd puppy. They were just born and the owner wanted to give them away for FREE!
We said YES right away. Not knowing any details about how we were going to get the puppy and when we could get him.

We would get pictures every few weeks of the puppies and an update of when we could get him.

When we were in Ohio after our Costa Rica trip picking Carly and Emma up from my parents, we went and saw the puppies. We met the dad and mom of the puppies. The dad is huge, the german shepherd. The mom is the chocolate lab and was quite a big lab. So we will see how big he gets!

The lady with the puppies said that she wanted them all placed in homes the weekend after. Yikes! I was thinking about driving back, meeting my mom half way, or flying the puppy. Well, my sweet daddy and super helpful sister drove the puppy to US! They picked him up Friday night and drove him to us and got here Saturday morning. (Like the Saturday morning we were going to the Field of Dreams with Jim Pitchforth=Crazy and exciting weekend for us).

Emma first meeting Gunner.

Even after their bath the girls wanted to be outside with him.

watching him eat.

We try and let the girls 'walk' him around the yard so he gets used to listening to them and used to walking.
They love it! And so much that they fight over who gets the leash.

Carly loves her puppy.

They love putting sticks, mulch, flowers, grass all over him. He doesn't even mind. He just lets them do it, gets up and shakes it off.

We had ANOTHER visitor over the weekend. My little brother, Clayt, just graduated BYU-Idaho and was on his way home to Ohio. He stayed for the weekend as well. I mean, slept on our couch and helped with the girls. I snapped this picture before he took off Monday morning.

He loves to snuggle up next to someone and fall asleep. This time he chose my back. Usually it was on our shoes/feet, under our legs, or the kitchen table.

My life. Two girls and a pup.

Emma loves to climb into Gunner's doghouse to play. He followed her in and licked her. I couldn't help but take this picture before saving her. The first few days she was so scared of him. She is just at the right height that he just knocks her over and licks her. Or if she is already on the floor he will just nip at her fingers and lick her face.

Even during his nap she loves to pet him.

Gunner is under the slide and the girls went down together!

She is warming up to him! She actually seeks him out to play and pet him.

I never thought I would hold him so he could fall asleep on me.
It was adorable.

Rain won't make us stay inside!

Ugh. trying to spot clean the carpet. Our white carpet.
With taking him out every 30 minutes to go pee there is a lot more dirt that gets tracked in.
(We would stay outside all day, but these last four days have been rainy).
And not to mention the number of times he went pee on the carpet. Ugh.

Sleeping by the sliding glass door.

Diaper changes for Emma just got harder for us!
I usually have her on the couch now just so I don't have to worry about Gunner making her upset.

Jeremy got on the floor and Gunner would come and jump on him.

Sleeping by the sliding glass door again.

Emma playing tug o war with Gunner.

If you can see it, he is black so it's hard to see in pictures, but he is all sprawled out.
Just sleeping away.

Emma letting him lick her. This is a HUGE step for her.

I didn't know how hard a puppy would be! I am just constantly worried about him peeing and pooping in the house! He will be an outside dog once he gets a bit bigger and stops whining when we put him out! Two days ago I had a really good puppy day. NO accidents inside!!!! It was awesome. But that day was not a good mommy day :( Emma got her hand smashed and burnt. Both while I was taking Gunner outside. So because I had all my attention on Gunner, my girls were suffering :(

Emma is healing and Gunner is getting better. Right now he still sleeps a lot, so after he wakes up I just take him out right then. It is a big change for us! But in the end, the girls are totally obsessed and that's the first thing they want when they wake up. Gunner!!!!
