Des Moines trip

We have some friends who live in Des Moines and it was about time for us to meet up with Uncle Clayt for a visit. So we met him in Des Moines for the night.

We stayed the night with the Katzenbach's and their THREE border collies.
Saturday we had an easy morning and then went to the science museum with Uncle Clayt.

Ice cream for this girl.

Emma was in love with this high chair. She doesn't even sit in a high chair at home, but she was a huge fan. haha.

Carly said "mom look! both hands!"
Like Father like daughter

Jeremy petting the dogs with both hands. haha

When we asked Carly if she was ready to go to the museum, she told us that we could go ahead and that she would stay at the house with the dogs and throw the ball. haha

It took Emma a bit to warm up, but as soon as she did she was all over Buddy and loved throwing the ball.

Heidi was having trouble with keeping her fish healthy, so Carly helped pick out a new gold fish "Cutie" so the sick fish wouldn't be lonely in a different tank.

Uncle Clayt is always fun to have around! Both girls are on his back and then he would throw them onto the couch. As soon as he threw them onto the couch, again! again!!

The science museum had bubbles! Emma loves bubbles.

Fun in some water.

Emma trying to get the ball, she even found a little stool to help.

Balls! There was a whole Ball Wall.

Emma would collect as many as she could carry and then put them in that yellow basket and watch them shoot up.

The thing in the middle spins, and you try and get the donut looking things to spin on the center piece. We were trying for a few minutes, this guy comes and sits down and does it his first try! haha
The lighting in this room is weird because it was really dark with blue lights.

Carly loves trains. It was perfect. Carly was playing with the train set and Emma was over with the Ball Wall.

Our weather girl!

The girls got to drive these little robots. They actually did a really good job!

These girls love their Uncle Clayt.
They were sad to say good bye.

Jeremy climbed in the back seat and passed out while the girls were asleep. Made for a nice peaceful hour and a half drive to Costco!

The BEST traveler.
She took her shoes and socks off and was saying "how are you?" with her sock puppet. haha
I was so glad that we got to spend some time in Des Moines with Uncle Clayt. And the Katzenbach's were so nice to let us stay in their house. Carly is counting down until we will go back and see Max and Buddy and Molly again. haha

Temple trip

A few weeks ago a young woman in our ward gave Jeremy and I a babysitting coupon for one trip to the Temple and she would babysit the girls for us.

We had planned on going a few weeks ago, but Carly got sick so we rescheduled to Saturday!

It was so quiet and a long drive to and from the Temple. I always get so nervous leaving the girls that long especially when Emma cries when we are saying good bye.

But we made it to the temple, we did an endowment session, and we even stopped at Costco on our way home!

I got a cheese pizza from Costco. Usually I get the combo with all of the vegetables but the people in front of me in line got the cheese and it looked so good. It is SO good. It made up for the yucky Taco Bell we got in Fort Madison when we first got out of the temple to tide us over until we got to Costco.

I know Emma is missing a shoe, and Carly has one sock on. This is what we get when they are tired from church, ready for a lunch and naps.

It was so nice yesterday when we got home from the library. We played outside before lunch!

We even got their car out! Carly walked up to it and pointed to it asking if they could drive it. I was SO excited because she usually doesn't ask to drive it. They are still learning how to push the pedal and steer.

Carly plays basketball!

At our library there is a free half hour of this guy teaching kids how to play a different sport every first Monday of the month. It's fun and Carly really seemed to like it. We have done tennis and we just did football yesterday.

I got on his email list and he sent out that he will be doing a basketball class for kids Carly's age. I asked Jeremy and he said to do it!

Every Thursday for 5 weeks we go at 10:15 for Carly's basketball class.

Learning how to shuffle her feet for defense.

Shooting a basket.

It is so fun watching her! I think I was kind of distracting. She came over to me five different times to give me a kiss and say hi.

They love HyVee because of these little carts. It is a pain to keep track of both of them. But with practice they both have learned to stay with me and just follow behind.

I have a video of them playing with their new Elsa castle. They each had different characters and were talking. I love listening to their pretend play.

I guess they wanted a snack. haha. They found this cheese, meat, and cracker tray.

On a weekly basis they take the center of their table out and take turns being inside of it while the other one brings them toys.

Playstation!

Carly did such a good job of keeping track of Emma. I usually have to go around with Emma in the tunnels and slides, but Carly did awesome at staying with her.

We finally finished their crowns from the Frozen party. And I wanted a picture with each of their crowns. haha This is what I got.

Silly girl.

church dresses, bowling, ice cream, and basketball

Oma and Papa got these purple dresses for the girls for Christmas. They are 100x cuter on!

Trying to get a good picture of them together is HARD!

Don't mind Emma's rain boots, big gloves, cute coat, and winter hat. At least she is dressed warm!
Even though we don't have snow we try and get outside when it's bearable outside. We have had a few of those days!!

Going on walks is always a favorite! Carly on her balance bike and Emma wanted the stroller this time.

Emma is a pro at bowling!
She can do it all by herself.

Waiting for Daddy to get us some food, I asked for a picture of them waiting and this is what I get! haha

$1 hot dogs and drinks! to go with their dollar games and bowling shoes! Such a cheap Family Home Evening and a great winter activity.

The girls got gift cards to Coldstone for their birthday. Coldstone was right around the corner from the bowling alley.

This cutie shared her peanut butter chocolate with me. While daddy and Emma shared a mint oreo.

If Jeremy's games are at 7:00 we have been taking the girls. They love watching Jeremy play. They were so good during the game that we let them run back and forth on the court after the game.
