5 weeks today!

I can't believe that Carly is already five weeks old! She loves to smile. She loves to grunt. She loves to snuggle with daddy. This morning she started crying when I got in the shower. I come out to Jeremy snuggling with her. Both were alseep. :) Precious.

Carly has just grown out of newborn clothes. We have started dressing her in 0-3 months! Some outfits are a bit big. But she is growing so fast!

Carly took a nap yesterday in her big crib. I'm not quite ready for her to sleep in it at night.

These pictures were taken throughout the week. I took them on my phone, so the quality isn't the best. But they are pictures!

this is what I get to wake up to :) Smiley Carly!

She LOVES to smile!

She froze like this when I put her in the car seat. Jeremy said "touchdown!"

Ready for church :)

Yawning. One of the things Carly does best. She always gets me when she yawns really big.

I was rubbing her belly and she would smile at me.
Carly loves two things. 1. bright lights 2. picture frames.
She will stare at them all day!

the husband :)

I know that all I have been writing about is Carly. So this post is dedicated to my husband, Jeremy. He asked me if I was going to post something on my blog that was about me. I told him no. He said, oh is the blog just for Carly updates? I had already been thinking about posting something about him but didn't really know what to say yet. After he made that comment, I was definitely going to write something about him.

Jeremy has been such a great help for me. He changes Carly's diapers. Even in the middle of the night when I politely nudge him to go and change her, he does! Did you know that I didn't even change a diaper until Carly was a week old??! It wasn't by choice. Jeremy wouldn't let me. I am one lucky wife.

Jeremy does so many little things for me. For example, Jeremy gets me ice water whenever I ask him. He has been doing the laundry. He has been doing laundry. He stayed home the other night and cleaned for two hours! I came home to a nice clean house. He always offers to take Carly so I can get some sleep.

I don't know how I got so lucky to have a husband that is so helpful. He has definitely made my recovery much more smooth. I love him so much! So Jeremy, if you are reading this post, thank you thank you!! You are the best! I love seeing you be a dad! It makes me love you even more.

One Month Already!!!

I can't believe Carly is already one month old today! She has grown so much. Carly went to her month check up today. She weighed 9 lbs. 12 oz. and 21 inches long. (She was born at 7 lbs. 4 oz.!!) The doctor said that she is very happy with her weight and height today. She asked if Carly spits up. I said yes, sometimes it's a lot too. The doctor looked at me and said that she isn't worried about that because obviously she is getting enough to eat!

Today Carly was very smiley. I even got some pictures of her smiling. She sleeps pretty well. We have our rough nights every now and then. Like the other night she was awake for 3 hours and then slept for 2 and was up for another hour. It... was...rough!

Jeremy and I have learned a lot about communicating at night when we wake up when I need to feed Carly. For example, one night I nudged Jeremy for him to go and change Carly after I nursed her on one side. He said, "uh" and rolled over to turn the other way. So I had to go and change her and then feed her some more. I... was...so...mad! Another time Carly was crying and I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I propped her up on my pillow and let her cry for a second. Jeremy rolled over to the other side AGAIN! So needless to say, Jeremy had eight hours of sleep that night! He felt great in the morning, wouldn't know why??! In the morning he said "hi Krystal!" I didn't give him the nicest look and he was like "what?!" I began to tell him about him rolling over. He wondered why he never got up last night to change Carly.

In the first month of Carly's life I can say that I LOVE watching her grow and having her in our lives. She is such a joy to have. One night when I was super tired and she was still awake for some reason. I held her up so I could see her face and I was talking to her. She gave off this big smile. I smiled back and realized that the night wasn't that long and that she would eventually go to sleep.

Nights are by far the worst part right now. Only because I have never had something take so much sleep away from me. I can honestly say that I have never had something take so much sleep away from and still love it SO MUCH. Everyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE my sleep. I have learned that it is important to get take a nap when she is napping.

Our Precious Princess...

These are pictures that were taken when Carly was a week old. Breanna, my sister-in-law, was able to bring her nice camera for us to play with. Breanna took some pictures and then left her camera for me to take more. Yes, I took pictures for hours. It took a while to get all of these taken because Carly kept getting hungry :)

SMILEY Carly!
