still traveling...

Jeremy and I have been traveling for awhile now. We left Ohio on December 12th for graduation at BYU-Idaho. We were in Utah for Jeremy's cousins' wedding, then we went to California. I would post pictures of our trip to the Logan Temple, Salt Lake Temple Square, and the sunset on the beach in California, but I lost my camera the first trip the beach. Sad day. I wasn't all that upset that I lost the camera. I just wish I could have those pictures from our trip.

Jeremy and I spent Christmas with his family in California. It is quite different seeing palm trees with Christmas lights on them. It was really weird seeing Christmas lights and no snow on the ground. Actually some people did have 'snow' on their yard. I told Jeremy if we ever live in a place that doesn't snow, we will put that cotton stuff all over our yard to make it look like snow. :)

We were able to go to the beach a few times and enjoy its beauty. We did not get in the water to swim. We did have a bonfire on the beach one night and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. It was so pretty. The waves were really loud, the moon was full, and it was fun to sit and talk. Jeremy suggested that we just touch the water with our hands to say that I touched the west coast water.  Well the wave came and I couldn't run back fast enough, so I got wet. Thank goodness I rolled up my pants. The water was freezing!

Baby Update:

How Far Along: Today I am 32.5 weeks along.

Cravings: I still haven't had any cravings. I just eat about every hour or so.

Feeling: I am feeling pretty good, considering I have spent 50+ hours in a car in the past three weeks. I have had some good days and bad days.

I know I have been super blessed to be feeling well throughout this whole pregnancy. I was never really sick. I only got nauseous and light headed when I didn't get enough water or eat frequently.

Best Part of being pregnant right now: I love feeling the baby move. She is much bigger now and she is pretty active and so I can sit and others can watch her too. Never fails that when I say she is moving and everyone looks, she gets 'shy' and stops moving!

Worst Part of being pregnant right now: Just the other day I started getting really bad lower back pain. I don't think my back has ever hurt this bad. Yeah, I have always had back problems (it helps that my dad is a chiropractor to put me back together). But lately it has hurt. Walking it off helps and not being in one position for too long. I can't stand, sit, lay down, or walk for long periods of time. Jeremy has learned to just let me cry about it and be patient.

Sleep: Oh how I love naps! Jeremy asked me the other day how I lasted through student teaching not being able to take a nap every day. I think it was because my body knew that I couldn't take a nap and so I just pushed through every day. Now I can sleep. a lot.

I told Jeremy to smile. This is what I got :)

Good timing! We got the wave in the background.

Me and my love

Love him.

30 hours... at 30 weeks!

Yes, I did it. I know it was an insane thing to do but we have to get our stuff back to Ohio somehow. AND save money of course. We DROVE for 30 hours (from Ohio to Idaho) and I am 30 weeks pregnant. I am pretty sure my dad had to use the bathroom more than I did, so the pregnant girl did pretty well. :) I slept a lot which was nice to catch up on some sleep.

We are now graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho. Jeremy graduated in Communications-Public Relations and I graduated in Elementary Education. It was quite exciting to graduate together. One thing I thought I would not be doing, graduating with my husband! I married well, what can I say :)

Speaking of marrying well, at graduation, you hand the announcer your name card and they read it as you walk across stage. Well, Jeremy wrote on his name card 'Jeremy Ryan Pitchforth III' (he added the third to it). So as he was being announced and walked across stage, 'Jeremy Ryan Pitchforth III was announced. Yes, I laughed and also turned red. My parents asked, you're really the third? And he said, 'No I just wrote it and they read it!' What can I say, never a dull moment with Jeremy :) love him!

Baby Update:

How Far along? 30.4 weeks

Weight gain: last we checked I have gained 20.5 pounds. It has just occurred to me these last few weeks when my feet have started to throb... I have more weight on my feet than I ever have! Of course they are going to hurt! But I know the weight is good and now that I don't teach 8 hours a day, I can sit whenever I want.

Cravings: So far I have not craved anything particular. When people ask me what I have craved I tell them, "FOOD." I just love to eat...all...the...time. Some days I feel like I can't get enough potatoes (fries when we were traveling), other days I feel like I could eat and eat and eat and never be full at dinner. Being pregnant gives me the excuse to get up more than once to get more food :)

Feeling: I am feeling really well. Being able to sleep when I want is a nice feeling. I have been getting naps and so this has helped me feel much better when I have a headache or nauseous.

Best part of being pregnant right now: It is my excuse for doing dumb things. I forget people's names or just simple things and I use "oh I'm pregnant" as an excuse.

Worst part of being pregnant right now: Not being able to go hot tubbing. Jeremy asked if he could go hot tubbing with the Schwab's tonight. I said that he could. So this is why I am updating my blog right now. He is hot tubbing without me :(

Sleep: I am sleeping really well. I wake up to go to the bathroom at least once a night. I also wake up because my legs have been cramping up on me. OUCH! I stretch them as much as I can and fall back to sleep. It isn't a pleasant feeling to wake up to.

Our First Christmas Tree...

We finally got our very own Christmas tree. :) Thanks to my mom for all of the decorations, we now have a purple Christmas tree in our house.

Yes, Jeremy is wearing an Ohio State Christmas hat :)

How far along? I am 27.4 weeks.

Weight gain: I have gained 20 pounds.

Feeling: I have been feeling pretty good. Today was kind of an off day. I forgot my water bottle for church. So I didn't get a whole lot of water which gave me a headache. When I got home I drank and drank water. I felt much better. Note to self: don't EVER forget a water bottle... You will pay for it.

Best part of being pregnant right now: Feeling her move and tumble in my tummy. She is a rolling and a kicking all the time.

Worst part of being pregnant: Not being able to exercise with Jeremy. It was one thing that we looked forward to, keep one another in shape. Now he is losing weight while I gain it :)

Sleep: I have been sleeping really well. If I don't take a nap I sleep really well that night. I do wake myself up at night because I am SO HOT. My stomach radiates heat like an oven. No joke. I wake up in the middle of the night and I am sweating. Now Jeremy knows how I feel because he is usually the one with the hot body. :)

Recent appointments:  I had an appointment on Tuesday. Doctor said that it was my last one of skipping a month because I am going into my third trimester!!!! wahoo! I now go to see the doctor every two weeks until I deliver.

baby's first stuffed animal...

How far along? I am 23.4 weeks.

Weight gain: I have gained about 12 pounds.

Feeling: I have been feeling great. I am starting to eat more at meals and not so much snacking all the time. As long as I get a good breakfast, I feel really good in the mornings. Certain cereals make me feel gross, so no more Raisin Bran for me.

Wearing: I am wearing maternity pants. I also like wearing dresses, less pressure on the stomach.

Best part of being pregnant right now: While Jeremy watches his football, I sit and watch my shirt move up and down from seeing the baby kick. I love it. Last week I woke up because she was kicking me. I didn't even get mad. I think this is the first time that someone has woken me up and I didn't get mad. I just thought 'well the baby is up!'

Worst part of being pregnant: Since I am pregnant, everyone thinks that I need some kind of advice about everything. Whether it is how to parent, what to eat, exercising, nursing, labor, things to buy and the still continues...daily.

Sleep: I have been sleeping really well. I don't really sleep in on the weekends because my body is set to get up every day early for school.

Upcoming appointments: I just had an appointment on Thursday, October 25th. It went well. Weight gain is good. I just have to get more blood work done before my next appointment. Probably my least favorite part of being pregnant.. blood work.

Baby Bump Picture:

I can't forget about Jeremy :) He has the elephant stuffed animal for 'baby Pitchforth'. We had a deal. I post a picture of me and I post a picture of him too.

This is baby Pitchforth's first stuffed animal. :)

just a little update...

Jeremy is doing his internship. I leave every morning before he does and get home after him. He is getting lots of experience with this internship along with lots of driving time. He is also good at doing laundry and cleaning house for me. :) I love my student teaching experience.I just experienced my first parent/teacher conferences. The students are so fun to teach.

I also love feeling/seeing our baby kick. She loves to move! I told Jeremy it's cute now, but just wait until she starts kicking my ribs. Right now, it just feels like a big heart beat. It feels really neat!

The day has come. I can't see my feet anymore when I stand straight up and look down. The other day, I told Jeremy when I look down, all I see is the baby bump and not my feet! It is a good reason not to see my feet though. :)

She's a kickin'...

I have felt her move every day for a week and a half! Yes, I drink more water than usual. The nurse said that water helps her move more. That's what I have been doing, water.. water...water.
Jeremy felt her kick 7 times for the first time Sunday night! He was pretty excited.

I have found that some pregnant girls do a pregnancy questionnaire. Well, I want to try it.

How far along? Today I am 20 weeks along. Which means I am half way! Which means I will only get bigger!

Weight Gain: I have gained about six pounds.

Feeling: I have not had morning sickness. Not even in my first trimester, thank goodness. I only get nauseous if I don't eat often enough or drink enough water. I do not like the smell of cologne so Jeremy doesn't wear it.

Wearing: I have been wearing maternity pants. They are super comfortable and have that nice elastic band on them. I have not started wearing my maternity shirts, I still fit into some of my regular shirts.

Best part about being pregnant: Feeling her move FINALLY. There has to be something in there that has made me eat so much!

Worst part about being pregnant: I have to pee constantly. It wouldn't be so bad, but I have to tell my cooperating teacher every time I am leaving the classroom.
Food: No, I have not had any cravings. I can eat just about anything. I make sure that I eat about every hour. I really like fruit snacks, trail mix, and granola bars for this is what I take to school to munch on.

Sleep: I have been very blessed and have been sleeping SO well. I only get up once a night to go pee. I have long days at school (student teaching) which helps me sleep really well at night.

Gender: It's a girl! We found out September 11th when we had an ultrasound.

Upcoming appointments: My next appointment is October 25th. (I just had one last week and everything looks great. I also had blood work done).

It's a...

GIRL!!!
Yupp, we were surprised too! Well at least I was. I thought for sure I was having a boy. Jeremy guessed a girl. Of course he was right. I am so excited though. Walking through the stores I point out to Jeremy that we get to buy baby dolls and barbies for our little girl. Yes, I have already started making bows for her hair. We are still deciding on names though. We want to have a list of names for when she is born to choose from.

Tuesday we went to have an ultrasound and Wednesday I started Student Teaching. yayy!! I have been waiting for this for months!! I have finally been placed and have been observing since Wednesday. I love my class. I love my cooperating teacher. I just get super tired and make sure I eat constantly and drink lots of water. My students think it is fun to come up with girl names to name our baby. haha. It is pretty funny. Some of them I say, "Oh that is cute, but you can name your dog that."

I love being on a schedule now and not just sleeping all the time. I have to get up in the mornings and get ready for the day. I am hoping, and I have heard, that this will make the rest of my pregnancy go by fast because I am pretty busy.

The time has come...

Jeremy and I are starting a blog. Well I will be mostly writing it, but Jeremy will add his two cents.

The main reason why we are starting a blog is to keep people updated through the next chapter in our life as we start a family!! We are pretty excited.

It all started when we prayed and felt impressed that it was time to start a family. I was off birth control for two months. I took a pregnancy test one night after I told Jeremy how my stomach had been bothering me and that I had been super emotional lately. Usually I am not an emotional person, well that has changed.

It was quite a shock at first, seeing the big plus sign on the pregnancy test. It didn't seem real. I have been very blessed. I have not had any morning sickness. Thank goodness because I was finishing up my last semester of classes at BYU-Idaho on campus during my first trimester.

It was fun telling our parents the great news. Our siblings were also very excited.

It felt real the other day when we finally got to see 'baby Pitchforth' from an ultrasound. We also heard the heartbeat. What a neat experience! It was a reassurance that someone is living inside of me. Weird!!! but wayyyy exciting. Jeremy said that I had a smile on my face the whole time!
Here is 'baby Pitchforth' sucking its thumb. It was moving quite a bit and the doctor asked if I feel it, I said no, he said 'oh just wait'.

We find out on Tuesday if it's a boy or a girl.

here it is!!

I am starting a blog. yayy!!
