Swimming at the Marion Pool and Lake Macbride

I think we have found our favorite pool! It is cheaper, they can wear their puddle jumpers, there is a slide, and there are three separate pools!

This pool is 2-3 feet deep and the slide is perfect for the girls. Emma can actually reach at the 2 foot! She hopped in and said 'mom, I reach!'

The girls love when Jeremy swims under them.

haha Emma hung onto Jeremy.

I love how they are both laughing.

Carly going down the slide ALL BY HERSELF.

She did it! Last time we came, I caught her ever single time she went down.
I was so sore from that, so I told her I wouldn't do that again this time. Jeremy refuses to catch her. haha By the end of the time we were there she could jump in and go down the slide without us having to catch her.

Emma plays hard and then she crashes.

We had friends that were obsessed with Lake Macbride. Well it didn't disappoint! We showed up at 11 and left at 2. By the time we left it was packed.

Waiting for Jeremy and I to get sunscreen on so we could go in the water!

Lunch break!

We are definitely going back. It is like a 20 minute drive from our house. But it was so fun. And the girls loved swimming! They didn't even play in the sand. You can rent paddle boats or kayaks, but today we just wanted to swim.

Happy 4th of July!

Our city does a Freedom Festival every year leading up the 4th.
On Saturday, July 1st they had their Freedom Festival parade.
It was so fun watching the girls wave and get candy from the different organizations.
I sometimes ask Jeremy to take a selfie with me, just to document we were there too!!

Emma clapping for the motorcycles, and Carly covering her ears because they were pretty loud.

We met up with our friends the Hardings. The kids kept getting pushed closer and closer to the line of parade.

Emma and her goody bag. There was someone giving out chapstick! We have like 7 tubes of chapstick now. Emma is a huge fan.

Waving again. so cute.

The fire department does a little obstacle course for kids. So glad we left the parade a bit early to come do this. By the time our kids and the Harding kids were done the line was huge!

Carly was so fun to watch! She didn't get frustrated like I thought she would, she just did what she could and the firefighter helped her. They got a firefighter badge at the end. So fun!

Emma did it too! Jeremy helped her, but she did it!

Daddy took them to the park while I rested. Being out in the sun from the parade is exhausting.

At church on Sunday Emma learned about her body being a temple and that we should eat healthy food.
She was obsessed with her poster that her teachers Brother and Sister Holzer traced her on. We hung it up all week and they practiced shooting their nerf guns at it. haha
Jeremy text me while he was at work and asked how we were doing getting ready for the bbq. haha Emma was having a total break down right before heading out to the door to go get the last few things we needed to the bbq.
Sometimes I am creative and find things on pinterest! It was a white poke cake with strawberry jello. So yummy and easy.
I get the Better Home & Garden magazine from my parents and this idea was in there. Check! Rice krispie treats were a hit and you can never go wrong with skewers with fruit. Yum.

Tuesday, July 4th we had a bbq.
It started out as a few families who we knew doesn't have family around to do something with. We ended up having about 20 people here. Jeremy was proud of his arrangement of chairs that we borrowed from neighbors. Too bad I didn't get any pictures of people during, but you get the idea, there was a lot and it was so fun. We even had some of our neighbors come over later and ended up going to fireworks with us.

I asked Jeremy to get a picture of the girls in their red, white, and blue outfits. This is the best we could get! Oh well.

At 8:30 we drove to the top of a parking garage downtown and paid $2 to park. We walked the rest of the way up and had about an hour to kill before fireworks started.

Carly waiting to light her sparkler.

The elders were allowed to come with us as long as members took them! They spent the evening playing cornhole at our house and then got to see the fireworks. Elder Spencer and Van Haren. Carly and Emma were throwing pop its.

See! We were there!
I have a wall of selfies that Jeremy and I took from the last year hanging above our bed on a cute heart garland. I love it. So I want to continue to take pictures everywhere we go together and see how much we have changed and things we get to do together.

Carly sat with Jeremy for fireworks.
While Emma was mostly sitting on the blanket playing with the connectors and glow sticks that our neighbor brought. haha

Happy 4th of July from these firecrackers!!
The fireworks were pretty perfect. They were lit off across the bridge and so we could see the high ones just right.

Happy 4th of July from Us!!!

A visit from Uncle Lester

We have an uncle that drives truck. He occasionally gets a load that brings him past our area, so he stops by and we meet up with him! Last time we went and got custard at Freddy's. This time they stopped at Papa Murphy's on their way home and picked up pizza to bake. Yum!

Carly wanted to show Uncle Lester how she can hit the baseball.

The girls were huge fans of Uncle Lester's BIG TRUCK.

The girls thought it was so fun to sit in the big truck.

mowing, backyard, bowling & lightning bugs

I needed the girls to go inside so we could get baths. I go around to the backyard to this! Emma helping Jeremy mow. She was so proud.

Out on a family walk at Clark Park. We used to live right up the street from this park. Carly and I spent a lot of time here. I would push her in the stroller or she would just walk. We finally made it over one Saturday morning and the girls loved it.

Bowling for Family Home Evening on a Monday night.

Jeremy did awesome. And I hit 100!! yayy

Have I said how much I love having a backyard?!!
The sprinkler, the swing set, and pool, and the water table. It is so nice not to have to go somewhere for them to play in the water if we just want to chill at home.

Emma dumping water on her own head. haha

Jeremy thinks he is so funny and turns the water on high so the sprinkler gets the girls.

Jeremy running from Carly haha She definitely had a cup full of water.

The girls running away form the sprinkler when Jeremy turned it up high. They thought it was so funny.

CARLY CAUGHT A LIGHTNING BUG! All by herself.
She said it landed on her hand and she grabbed it.

Happy Father's Day!

For Father's Day for Jeremy the girls painted a frame for him to take to work, we did the tradition of putting handprints on a tie for him to wear to church, and we put handprints on a shirt too!

Carly isn't very good at keeping secrets. Stinker. It doesn't help that Jeremy knew we went shopping to get him a few things and Carly told him everything we got him!
The girls pampered Jeremy and painted his toe nails. haha He kept it on for a while, surprisingly.

I did surprise him with two ties for him and two ties for baby boy to match!!!!!
I looked around a lot because Jeremy doesn't wear bow ties and I wanted regular ties, I was so excited when I found these.
They go really nice with Jeremy's new navy blue suit we got him for Father's Day. He has been wearing that for a while though. He FINALLY said his thrift store suits aren't cutting it anymore.
