Happy 4th of July!

Our city does a Freedom Festival every year leading up the 4th.
On Saturday, July 1st they had their Freedom Festival parade.
It was so fun watching the girls wave and get candy from the different organizations.
I sometimes ask Jeremy to take a selfie with me, just to document we were there too!!

Emma clapping for the motorcycles, and Carly covering her ears because they were pretty loud.

We met up with our friends the Hardings. The kids kept getting pushed closer and closer to the line of parade.

Emma and her goody bag. There was someone giving out chapstick! We have like 7 tubes of chapstick now. Emma is a huge fan.

Waving again. so cute.

The fire department does a little obstacle course for kids. So glad we left the parade a bit early to come do this. By the time our kids and the Harding kids were done the line was huge!

Carly was so fun to watch! She didn't get frustrated like I thought she would, she just did what she could and the firefighter helped her. They got a firefighter badge at the end. So fun!

Emma did it too! Jeremy helped her, but she did it!

Daddy took them to the park while I rested. Being out in the sun from the parade is exhausting.

At church on Sunday Emma learned about her body being a temple and that we should eat healthy food.
She was obsessed with her poster that her teachers Brother and Sister Holzer traced her on. We hung it up all week and they practiced shooting their nerf guns at it. haha
Jeremy text me while he was at work and asked how we were doing getting ready for the bbq. haha Emma was having a total break down right before heading out to the door to go get the last few things we needed to the bbq.
Sometimes I am creative and find things on pinterest! It was a white poke cake with strawberry jello. So yummy and easy.
I get the Better Home & Garden magazine from my parents and this idea was in there. Check! Rice krispie treats were a hit and you can never go wrong with skewers with fruit. Yum.

Tuesday, July 4th we had a bbq.
It started out as a few families who we knew doesn't have family around to do something with. We ended up having about 20 people here. Jeremy was proud of his arrangement of chairs that we borrowed from neighbors. Too bad I didn't get any pictures of people during, but you get the idea, there was a lot and it was so fun. We even had some of our neighbors come over later and ended up going to fireworks with us.

I asked Jeremy to get a picture of the girls in their red, white, and blue outfits. This is the best we could get! Oh well.

At 8:30 we drove to the top of a parking garage downtown and paid $2 to park. We walked the rest of the way up and had about an hour to kill before fireworks started.

Carly waiting to light her sparkler.

The elders were allowed to come with us as long as members took them! They spent the evening playing cornhole at our house and then got to see the fireworks. Elder Spencer and Van Haren. Carly and Emma were throwing pop its.

See! We were there!
I have a wall of selfies that Jeremy and I took from the last year hanging above our bed on a cute heart garland. I love it. So I want to continue to take pictures everywhere we go together and see how much we have changed and things we get to do together.

Carly sat with Jeremy for fireworks.
While Emma was mostly sitting on the blanket playing with the connectors and glow sticks that our neighbor brought. haha

Happy 4th of July from these firecrackers!!
The fireworks were pretty perfect. They were lit off across the bridge and so we could see the high ones just right.

Happy 4th of July from Us!!!
